I was invited by Nokia to preview the Nokia N8 in New York City. Software is still not finished, but you can get an idea of how it’ll be like. They showed us how the Nokia N8 can be connected to an HDTV with surround sound system via HDMI. You really have to experience it firsthand, because I think it’s amazing. Nokia went on to show its other features like the 12 megapixel camera with xenon flash, multitasking, pinch to zoom in browser and photo gallery, USB on the go, multiple homescreens, homescreen widgets, and more. At the end of the one-hour presentation, I asked Ira Frimere, product manager, to summarize everything in a 2 minute demo for the blog. Those who hate Symbian will most likely still hate Symbian^3. The UI changes aren’t noticeable but that was already expected. The Nokia N8 will be available late summer of 2010 for EUR 370.

Snakes is Nokia’s 3D reworking of their classic phone game Snake. The first lower resolution version of Snakes was released for the original N-Gage and N-Gage QD in 2004. The version shown here is the higher resolution version for Symbian S60 3rd Edition devices, and the device being used is the Nokia E61. It also works on any other S60 3rd Edition device, such as the N95.
