Every month India adds millions of new mobile users. Currently about 20 percent of India (population over 1 billion) has mobile phones. In a short span of less than 10 years the number of mobile users in India has grown from a few thousands to millions. In India about 60 percent of the mobile handset market belongs to Nokia. According to one report out of the 60 percent about 25 percent of the handsets sold by Nokia are from their high-end models. But, who are the people behind this interesting statistics and trend? I am always curious to find out who constitutes a typical mobile user in India? Meet Mari, who is a driver located in Bangalore and represents a section of population from urban India who aspire not for simple mobile phones, but high-end multimedia gizmos that come loaded with all the bells and whistles.
